April 1, 2010 meeting

  • Saturday April 10th is a "register your organization with the university" all day meeting. Jen and Michelle agreed to do this (thank them...they're doing you a large favor!)

  • Only those that emailed Diana mileage and housing were re-embersed for visit day help. If you helped the new "recruits", please email her with who you housed and/or how many miles you drove them around and where you went!

  • We voted NO on making a homecoming float.

  • We have 2 new volunteering opportunities. Michelle (our new volunteering coordinator) and Liz need to know which one you would like to do.
    1. Humane Society of West Texas (e.g., filling out adoption forms at PetSmart Saturdays, fostering a kitten (go J go!!! :), etc.).
    2. Food Bank (i.e., helping provide food to those that can't afford it). This would mostly be weekdays, with a chance to help "farm" (not sure what that means quite yet) on  Saturdays. There's also an opportunity to help kids that need it.
**Provide a comment saying which you're interested in doing.

  • Relay for life.
    • Many people didn't recieve Liz's email, so not much money has been raised :( It's not too late though! We have a week from tomorrow (it's Saturday April 10th from 6pm to 6am Sunday.
    • Michell will be going to one more team leader meeting. Ask her for more information on fundraising ideas and deadlines if you are having trouble.
    • Those that are doing it will be getting together next week to plan out all the activities, etc.
    • IHOP at 6 am when it's all done
    • Supply list of suggested things to bring
      • tent (but no stakes in the ground)
        • decorations if want: theme is woodstock (but no traditional woodstock substances)
      • Proper clothes
        • hat, coat, gloves, hand warmers, etc.
      • Chairs/table (but bring sand bags so as to not mess up the precious grass)
      • cards/games
      • snacks
      • activity schedule (apparently there will be activities to do)
