The secretary was not there, and there is a reason I didn't volunteer for the position!, so here is a very brief run down of the notes and elections. If I forgot anything, I apologize.
Relay for Life: We raised collectively $600, and had several people participate (Michelle, Diana, Jenna, J + Erin, Katie, Liz, James, Brad and Jen!).
While it is a worthy cause, we voted not to do it again as a part of TTU. Maybe for the LBB city one.
Arbor Day: We had Diana, Michelle, Jen, Adam, Xi and Curtis planting flowers. It was a total of 20 minutes of planting! Because of this, several people who had planned to help were not able to (I know of James and J). If doing it next year, will have to arrive 1 hr early to get the t-shirt and hot dogs, or use our own t-shirts. The "goodies" were not worth the long line for most people.
We decided to hold off on more volunteer efforts until the Summer when things "slow down", relatively speaking. May still work with the soup kitchen or animal shelters. Will decide and vote when its closer to actual participation.
We decided to change the name of the organization to Experimental Students of Psychology (ESP for short). And, we voted to change the jobs so that the VP now has the official duties of being a "secretary", being the community service coordinator, and still helping the president with any duties. The president will organize the budget each year, plan visit day, and attend SORC meetings.
We voted to vote in May for officers instead of September so that officers can make a smoother transition (aka take over while the prior officers are still here in town!).
